Salt System Repair

The salt system is made of a couple different components.

  • Salt cell
  • Front digital readout board
  • Back control board
  • Flow switch
  • Cabinet

The salt cell should be cleaned once a month to avoid scale build up.  If neglected, the cell would stop producing chlorine and need to be replaced. If properly maintained, salt cells should last up to 5 years.

If you find your system will not power up or the salinity reading on the front board does not match your independent salt tester. You will need to run some diagnostics to troubleshoot the issue.

Here are a couple of top reasons why your salt system would fail.

  • Age of equipment
  • Improper pool chemistry
  • Lack of general maintenance
  • Electrical power surges
  • Freeze damage
