Question: How do you know when its time to change the filter media in my
pools sand filter?

Answer: When either the filter stops grabbing the micro particles in the water,
and the just won’t clear up. Or when you have slow filtering water and high
filter presumer. And backwashing the filter docent help.

Question: How long does sand filter media typically last?

Answer: You can expect to get 5-7 yrs out of your sand file media.

Question: How much chlorine should I initially add to my pool to kill the algae
and get it to start clearing up?

Answer: A good rule of thumb is half a pound for every thousand gallons to
start. At which point you will want to keep the chlorine level at 7.5ppm along
with using algicide.

Question: How long does a spa filter last?

Answer: In a Outer Banks rental home. We change the filter every season. In a
private home. When cleaned on a regular basis “once a month” you can get
2-3 seasons out of a good filter.

Question: What’s the benefit of changing my pool over to salt generation vs
chlorine tabs?

Answer: The two main benefits in my mind are. Water quality and constant
chlorination. Your water is much softer with a salt pool and you do not get the
roller coaster of chlorine levels that you tend to with chlorine tablets.

Question: Best way to keep algae at bay during the pool season.

Answer:
Keeping your chemicals well balanced. And if you find your still
having issues. I recommend a Borate based chemical. Such a Supreme Plus.
This chemical eliminates the CO2 in the water. Chocking off the algae’s food
supply. While making the pool water super sparkly.
